No Room On the Canvas!

i literally have no more room now on the canvas.....but i did just get some more brooch backings.....and there is still room on my belt.......

i've completed a custom order or Jenny's mum, and i'm quite pleased with it.

The only things i'm working on now are a custom order of a set of 5 which i've been having a few issues with and have had to restart, a set of 8 for a swap for Christina from swap-bot who is kindly sending me some crystal light, a brooch for me and another brooch for the shop. the picture below is the beginnings:

More Space or Fewer Bottlecaps?

or i simply need to sell more! my magnetic canvas is rather full....

and that doesn't include the 10 i have drying and also the 5 brooches that are upstairs.
david also suggested painting the back of it too, to improve the magnetic strength.

Practise makes Perfect

i just do not learn!!! after having previously found that the 3d gloss makes the paper backgrounds go see-through in my bottlecaps - for some reason i did some more like it...... i managed to rescue a few but my "Orange Love" design was particuarly bad.

so i thought i'd see how easy it was to get out the designs that were in them - answer:

with a big of a dig with a craft knife/scapel and a tug with some tweezers it came out in one lump! so now i can reuse the bottlecaps - after all it would be slightly hypocritical if i just threw them away!!

i joined this swap on swap-bot recently. just a quick post as mum and i are watching Kinky Boots, something to keep her amused from her sick- sofa.

Clearing up after Christmas

when we were clearing up the christmas related things today, i came across a card i mean to blog about when i received it. it was one of my 3 Christmas cards from a Swap-bot swap. this one was from Oddlittleloop, and had the most wonderful quote inside:

Among the listed items that he suggested to southern farmers to help them economically were adhesives, axle grease, bleach, buttermilk, chili sauce, fuel briquettes, ink, instant coffee, linoleum, mayonnaise, meat tenderizer, metal polish, paper, plastic, pavement, shaving cream, shoe polish, synthetic rubber, talcum powder and wood stain.

Mum decided to clear out our card draw where we keep those cards that are more special and important at that moment in time. amongst some cards that had been sent to david for his birthday from a previous year i came across this:

Violent Veg are superb cartoons and i guess in some ways were inspiration for my christmas card designs this year.

Bottle top bounty!

I popped down to my local pub today to ask them if they wouldn't mind collecting the bottle caps for me over the weekend. Having sold 10 now at DaWanda i thought i should perhaps make some more. I also made 3 for a swap on swap-bot.



anyway it seems although Jo the bar maid has left she had been saving them and i was handed this brown paper bag full!



i have added more to the shop and there are still more waiting to be finished. i have just started doing a custom order of 5 as well.
