Garden Plan

Now that the cold weather snap has supposedly passed (i hope!) i really need to get planting in the garden. Once again this year mum had dug up more of the plants to make room for veggies. so i now have a 2 metre by 3 metre rectangle:

It's all dug, composted and ready to go. I just need a few more bricks to create a little path up the middle. I want it to be neat and tidy, so i've had a play around this morning and come up with this for a plan:

There's a hanging basket bracket on the near end of the shed, so if i get another bracket put in the other end we can rest a can across between the 2 and then there's something to attach canes for the beans to without it resting on the shed and touching the shed.

So then i have this other bed at the back:

It still needs to be dug and composted, and there compost left in the green bin to use.

And i do have room out the front still too, where last year i had a long line of chard (which still needs using up) and beetroot and there was a courgette plant out there too last year with sunflowers along the back wall. but i haven't sown any sunflower seeds this year. Then the other small patch out the front where i got another 10-12 beetroot is covered with leaves from bulbs still right now, so i will wait for them to die then dig it properly.

So the veggies that are then left on my list are:

• Beetroot
• Brocollis
• Cauliflowers
• Red Cabbage
• White Cabbage
• Courgette
• Squash
• Tomatoes
• Fennel

and i still need to decide on where my hanging basket strawberries are going to hang.

The raspberry canes have started sprouting all around the edge of the original ones i got or £2.25 at tesco a year ago when they were reduced, and my blueberry plant which i bought at the same time for the same price is also growing well again.

I think i counted 8 in total. After reading up, the plan it to dig them up once cut down in october/november and move them. So i will move them close to the original canes, probably to the left to start. I had no idea raspberry canes did this!
